The greatest journey of the human heart is to lose a heart of selfishness and gain a heart to serve.  When Paul in Acts 20:35 challenges us with the words of Jesus, “it is more blessed to give than receive,” he was reminding us that God’s intention for each of us that we would take on a lifestyle of giving and loving, rather than always seeking our own benefit.

The world is full of stories of men and women who have embraced something that they thought was of great value, only to be disappointed in the end.  We all know stories of some, who after a life time of work, learn how lonely and empty their lives are after retirement.  Why does it take some of us a life time to see how the things that capture us today have no value tomorrow?

We all know someone who may have been so hardened by something in this world, that from our vantage point it looks hopeless in terms of them coming to know Jesus and have a relationship with God.   It may be wealth or a circumstance beyond their control, but they are without God and have become hardened to Him.  The person we know may be a spouse, a friend, a mother, father, son or daughter. But know matter what we see, we always need to remember with us, yes, it is impossible, but with God, “all things are possible.”
