Jesus Christ cuts through all of the mess of man’s opinion… it was from heaven that the Father spoke, “This is my Son in whom I am well pleased.”
There is a fierceness and lion-like quality about Jesus Christ that we see throughout the gospels that help us understand who God is and what God feels passionate about. In Mark 11:12-22, we come to two incidents, where we see this fierceness, the cursing of a fig tree and the cleansing of the temple.
In Mark 10:46-52, we have a blind beggar, Bartimaeus, who in his inadequacy and weakness, understood his need for Jesus and yells out to Him “Son of David have mercy on me.” And the beauty of this account is that Jesus not only heals him of his blindness, but through this amazing miracle demonstrates to us that He is able to fulfill every promise He has made to us.
