Our natural condition is to run from God.  We do that because of our sin and shame.  We do it because we are captured by darkness and deception.  Instead turning to God... we are geniuses at getting our own way and ultimately suffer the consequences for it.   That is part of the story of the prophet Jonah.  Jonah 1:1-4 tells us that after the Word of God came to Jonah...  we read that Jonah “fled from the presence of the Lord.” 

God is the author of life and we should understand that no nation can escape God’s judgment that gives credence to the slaughter of the unborn.  And so we pray and ask God to revive us and guide our nation to see things through His word and that we would have the will to obey Him on this issue.

In Proverbs 4:23 we read  that we are to “Guard our hearts above all else, for out of it is the well spring of life.” (NIV)  The ESV reads this way, “Keep your heart with all vigilance for from it flows the springs of life.”
